5 Summer Activities for the Whole Family

Summer is the perfect time to get the family together for some fun outdoor activities. With long, sunny days and the cool nights, there’s no better place to be than outside! We’ve put together a list of 5 fun activities for the whole family this summer. We’ll even throw in some tips on how to get the most fun out of each one! So read on and get your summer started for real.

1. Hike a mountain with the best view you can find.

  • There’s lots of great resources to find local hiking spots! Check out https://www.alltrails.com/ for reviews and pictures of hikes near you.

2. Have a backyard campfire in the evening.

  • You can grill up some hot dogs over the fire, and follow it with some delicious s’mores. Because who doesn’t love s’mores?

3. Grill out at your local park. (Making sure it’s allowed first, of course)

  • Sear up some delicious burgers and hot dogs, or throw on a steak if you’re feeling adventurous! A personal favorite of mine is some grilled corn on the cob.

4. Head out to a campsite for a night under the stars.

  • It’s easy to have a nice hot meal when you’re camping too! Visit our friends over at https://www.backpackerspantry.com/ and get some great, freeze-dried meals for your trip. Just boil some water on the stove and dump it into the pouch! You’ll have a delicious meal in minutes.

5. Visit your local nature center.

  • There’s always lots of fun stuff for the kids to see at a nature center. Lots of these places will have “family days” where they offer great deals on entry tickets, so be on the lookout for those!

There’s our top 5 summer activities for the whole family! We hope you’re all able to get outside this summer and enjoy the great outdoors. Let us know what you think of our list, and add any ideas you may have in the comments!
